Meet Our Members

How to Join Rotary

1. Increase membership by 12 members by June 30, 2004
2. Improve our publicity / public relations efforts - we will have a program soon featuring Melanie Tek who has been hired by the District to improve our ability to promote Rotary.
3. Continue working on our Centennial Project - the new Head Start facility by donating funds, time, and materials whenever possible - Matt Cartwright is our District contact for the Centennial Project. There is going to be a District-wide poster contest for kids 9-12 yrs old.
4. Attend Family of Rotary Events whenever possible with spouses and/or children - a greater emphasis is on weekdays instead of weekends
5. Get a Twin Club in another country to do a project with
6. Get RYLA applicants
7. Increase Poinsettia sale profits 15% over last year
8. Conduct at least (1) additional fund raiser during the year
9. Achieve a Presidential Citation award
10. Obtain 100% participation in donating $100/member to Rotary Foundation - remember, approximately 80% of the funds that Rotarians donate is given BACK to individual clubs in the form of matching grants!
11. Work towards 100% Paul Harris Fellowship - budget for 3 this year
12. Submit (3) applications for future District Governors
13. Find (1) Ambassadorial Scholar from our immediate area
14. Obtain at least (1) Challenge Grant - more about this at the DG's visit 7/30/03 - all board members be at Konefal's by 5pm - all Rotarians please make an effort to attend this important meeting!
15. Concentrate on better participation with Youth Programs - Al Crosby is our District contact - he is to be the DG in 2005-06. Bob Whipple is the Youth Program Chair, and Ray Wilmarth, PDG from Montrose and Nancy Lindstrom, AG are also contacts. Boys Leadership Camp is handled by Gene Pilsner from the Trail Rotary Club and the Girls Leadership Camp is handled by Melissa Saxon. Interact is also imperative to the success of the Youth Programs. Interact clubs are made up of 14-18 year olds in the local schools who assist with projects and form the core for all other Youth Programs. We NEED to re-establish Interact Clubs locally!
